Tourist Net UK - Online Guide to Accommodation, Attractions and Activities throughout the UK

Narvik October 2009

CPA are going to Narvik, Norway in October 4th to 10th 2009

October 2009 sees CPA venturing north – way up north to the arctic circle, to dive one of the worlds most prolific wreck sites, Narvik in Norway.

Narvik is world renown for its variety of second world war wrecks – and the site of a British navy success in daring raids that saw the loss of over 25 destroyers and cargo ships in two days of fighting in April 1940.

Monsoon

Would you like to come along too? There are just four places remaining on this trip – so please check with David Jerram early for availability.

The Dive Boat:
We will be using the MS Galten for our week as a liveaboard and diving platform. This boat is based at Narvick and has received excellent reports from other dive clubs that have used the Galten and experienced her skippers hospitality..

The Diving:
The week starts with a guided tour at the Narvik war museum. During the week we will be diving on aircraft and ship wrecks from World War II. All the wrecks are in the Narvik area - so no long boat rides out to sea…

Interested? Please let us know as quickly as possible!

If you are interested in coming with us to the Red Sea in 2008 or have any questions please contact David Jerram at: do@cpanet.co.uk or come along to the club on any Tuesday night.

Requirement:
Diving will be suitable for all SAA ‘club divers’ with 30 dives and a good attitude to being dived up in time for the trip. Depths during the week will vary from 15-29 meters. Maximum depth is 33 metres, so most sites are perfect for nitrox and photography.

Diving package:
The diving package provides 10 boat dives, air, a guide, six night’s accommodation on board M/S Galten, transfer to and the airport, and entrance and visit the Narvik war museum.
