Where CPA meet.

We meet on Tuesday evenings from 8.00pm for pool training at Crossfields School, Shinfield, Reading (lectures start in the school hall from 7.00pm) - and from 9.00pm at the Bell & Bottle pub, School Green, Shinfield, Reading. If you are interested in learning to dive or want to find out more about CPA, it's members and the club please do pop along - we are a very friendly bunch and you will be made more than welcome.

This is the pool we use each Tuesday night. Lectures are given most weeks and generally run from 7.00pm to 8.00pm. Pool training and general swimming take place from 8.15 - 9.15pm.
On the first Tuesday of every month we hold a "family session" during which your spouses/children are more than welcome.

Directions:

From the M4:
Exit at junction 11. At the roundabout take the junction for the B3270 for Whitley Wood Road (2nd junction if exiting from Westbound carriageway, 3rd junction if exiting from Eastbound carriage). Follow this road and at the next roundabout turn left onto Shinfield Road (A327). Crossfields school is the 3rd entrance on the left (You will pass a sign for European Weather centre, the school is the next turning AFTER this - it is signposted quite prominently).

From the centre of Reading:
Follow the A327 out of Reading towards Shinfield and the M4. You will eventually come to a roundabout with a pub called "The Sportsman" on your left. Go straight over this roundabout and straight over the next mini roundabout. Crossfields school is about 200 metres on your right.

Meeting after the lecture and pool sessions

Pub
On Club nights, the diving club congregates in a pub called "The Bell and Bottle" from around 9.30pm. This is located on School Green in Shinfield (just off the the A327).
For a map to see where this is, click here. We are always there every Tuesday night. The only exceptions are one evening on AGM night (usually in early November) and Christmas or New Year (and Eve's) if on a Tuesday.

Parking
There is a car park outside the pub with ample space most Tuesday nights. However, on very busy nights you may have to just park on the main road.

Meeting up
If you are meeting us for the first time and don't know who to approach, just ask the staff behind the bar to point one of the diving club out to you. We are a very friendly bunch, and welcome anyone that has an interest in joining our busy and socially active club to come along.
